
Students at Small are given paper eagle feathers when teachers see them being safe, respectful and responsible. They use it to vote for a monthly school wide celebration. Will our next celebration be Dance Day, Reverse Day (students dress as teachers, teachers dress as students) or Yoga Time? Our students get to decide, and they do it with pride!

Balloons Over Broadway Parade! 2nd graders learned about the history of the Macy's Day Parade, then designed their own balloons for a parade around the school!

As the tragic shootings in Lewiston is ongoing situation, we encourage all families to follow the advice of law enforcement to stay safe at home until the perpetrator is apprehended.
We will closely monitor developments in the situation and will respond accordingly. We are in touch with the South Portland Police Department and will make a decision about the school day tomorrow, October 26th, in light of those developments.

South Portland High School (and ONLY SPHS) will have an early release today, Wednesday October 25th, because of significant plumbing issues.

The School Department is currently reviewing important issues in the district that may affect our schools in the coming years. Future decisions may affect where your children attend school in our district. We value your input before any decisions are made.

South Portland Middle School (SPMS) is hosting a Community Open House and Dedication on Saturday, October 21 from 1:00-4:00pm with the formal dedication program taking place at 2:15pm.
Join us at 120 Wescott Road for informational sessions, student performances and tours throughout he afternoon!


Our safe, respectful and responsible students have earned a CELEBRATION! Tomorrow, Friday October 13th will be a Flashlight Fun day. Students will have some time in their classrooms when the room will be dark and they can read, play or do other activities with flashlights. Great job Small students!

Friday, September 22, 2023 is a Pajama Day at Small School! Students earned and voted for this as a celebration for being Safe, Respectful and Responsible.

Reminder: Picture day is tomorrow, Wednesday, September 20th. 9:05-11:30.
Tomorrow is also an early release day and students will be dismissed at 12:35.
